1. Provenance
Bidcraft displays public procurement notices obtained from the South African National Treasury’s eTender advertised-opportunity portal. Bidcraft is a separate private software service and is not a government website, official tender publisher or authorised submission agent.
2. How records are retrieved
Our existing adapter retrieves the portal’s publicly accessible advertised-notice listing data using an undocumented endpoint. It processes a bounded collection of up to 8,000 source records, caches upstream result pages for approximately 15 minutes at the application layer, and applies filters to the retrieved set. Endpoint formats and availability can change without notice. The app may show locally cached search results when a refresh fails, with a stale indication. Saved opportunities, selected source snapshots and recent searches may remain on your device.
For selected details, Bidcraft may additionally compare records with Treasury’s Open Contracting Data Standard (OCDS) API where a matching record is found. This is not a full document-level validation or live change-monitoring service.
3. Coverage and accuracy
Treasury expressly states its publication is not a complete record of South African procurement and does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of supplied records. Documents and listing metadata can disagree. Bidcraft may omit opportunities, miss updates or display a date after it has changed. Apparent availability does not establish that a compulsory briefing is still open, a tender is still active or your organisation qualifies.
4. Deadlines, times and amendments
Bidcraft presents dates in South African Standard Time where supported by source formatting, but time-zone conventions may differ between official feeds. The tender document and subsequent clarification from the procuring entity must determine the valid time and submission procedure. Bidcraft cannot promise to find all amendments, extensions, withdrawals or cancellations. Open the original notice and documents before making a decision or sending a bid.
5. Licence and attribution
National Treasury publishes open procurement datasets for reuse and its transparency portal describes a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. Its publication policy asks republishers to keep links to the original source. Other OCDS metadata may describe an alternative database licence; consult the applicable record and terms. Bidcraft identifies the origin and links to official listings and attachments when they are supplied. Third-party tender attachments may have separate rights; an open-data licence must not be assumed to license every attachment independently.

7. Responsible decisions
Do not treat Bidcraft search results as legal procurement records, proof of eligibility, complete market coverage, a guarantee that a deadline is current or confirmation that a bid was filed. Refer to the terms for user responsibilities.
